My leadership experience, including 14 years at CEO level, has taught me that creating the conditions for people to thrive, above all other things, is the key to producing peak organisational performance.
This sounds easy, but leading organisations can be hectic and very demanding, so despite best intentions all sorts of things just get in the way. Likely why research is telling us too many people in todays workforce are not thriving and many feel disengaged.
As a leader with significant and varied experience where I have achieved success and overcome very demanding circumstances, I feel that I developed a winning way of leading and formula to achieve peak organisational performance.
This is why I have created The Performance Blueprint, a unique framework to help leaders create high performing teams through leadership, culture and systems development.
Now retired from my corporate CEO career, aside from walking my dog and riding my bike in beautiful places, I want to share my formula by spending time supporting like minded leaders who care and want to make a difference.

Chief Executive
As a CEO, I specialised in transforming leisure organisations to become highly efficient and sustainable. My leadership simultaneously increased impact across critical domains such as health, education, employability, and social services.
Strategic Planning
Writing novel successful strategies and plans, working with stakeholders, that have made significant at scale differences to organisational growth and the achievement of more and better outcomes for less.
Collaboration
Founder and first Chair of GM Active (Greater Manchester Association of Leisure and Cultural Trusts) with a pioneering collaborative mission to improve health and wellbeing across Greater Manchester, acting as a single strategic voice for leisure following health and social care devolution.
Capital Investment
Securing and supporting the delivery of more than £100million capital investment to transform the sport and leisure facility estates in Tameside, Northumberland and Harrogate.
National Awards
ukactive Outstanding Leadership Award and Organisation of the Year Award in 2017 and 2018 respectively and Outstanding Leadership Award finalist in 2023.
